Our adjuster, Robert Huebner, met Holly today at our address. As I wasn't able to be there, Brad, husband of one of Holly's colleagues, went with Holly to meet Huebner. As it was described to me, Huebner asserted that our damage was entirely a 'water event' and that there was 'no wind involved'. When pressed about how he knew that the house was destroyed by water and not wind there were some mutterings about historical events and getting an engineer out to look at our site. Or something.
Anyhow, this is in some way progress. At least we have met with the adjuster and we can begin to move forward. We are still waiting to hear from our standard homeowners insurance company.
Keep praying.

I'm sorry to hear that and will keep praying for a just settlement.
You might go ahead and contact the MS Insurance Commissioner to let them know what the adjuster said, and then call your company to let them know you've notified the Commissioner. No doubt they're already getting complaints. But be proactive and vigorous in your pursuit of meaningful dialogue with them!
B.,
I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you at church last Sunday. I was the weird guy at the piano.
I've been linking to your blog, so I thought I'd better tell you about that, too.
God bless you in your efforts,
Jon
