Well, we (we being us watching some contractors) demolished the walls. Here are the before and after pics. You can see the jacks supporting the load previously borne by the walls. We'll come back in with some combination of beams and columns to provide the necessary support.

We (same as above) also demo'd the yellow bathroom on the North side of the house. You can see the skeleton of what was a shower and I'm standing roughly where the wall was previously. We're gonna make the bathroom a little bigger and update it.
The ceilings have been mostly ripped out, the mold treatment occurs tomorrow and the framing/furring should start on Tuesday.

Hey, that looks great! It really opens up the space. Do you think you're on schedule to get it prepped by the 29th?
The date is actually the 23rd, but so far, we're on track, at least for the three rooms we need.

I am impressed with your skills! I need you to come work on my house. I am probably coming to the coast with a group from Faith in two weekends. The group is hanging sheetrock somewhere. I am experienced but not skilled so I may let someone else go...

Phillip... please come. There will be plenty of work for both the skilled and unskilled. Besides, hanging sheetrock is easy; the taping/mudding/sanding is what is hard. Call me when you get to town.

Hey, I bet you are super busy and updating the blog is not a top priority, but I was wondering what kind of publicity clause they've sworn you to (if any)?
I'm also kicking myself for not arranging our schedule to come down for the next three days. Praying that all goes well and I can't wait to see it (in person and you know where else).
